Evelyn M. Smallman Send Condolences
Evelyn M. Smallman of St. Albans, formerly of Deepwater, died in Charleston General Hospital on July 21, 2012.
Born February 20, 1921 to Walter and Clara Underwood Skaggs of Ansted, she was educated in Ansted Schools.
Evelyn was the wife of the late Robert J. Smallman of Deepwater.
In addition to parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Curtis; brothers Delbert, Ray and Darrell Skaggs; sisters, Florence Cameron and Mabel Hunt; son-in-law Ike Derossett.
Surviving are daughters, Karen Zeveney and husband Dr. Dennis of Pennsylvania; Sylvia Derossett of St. Albans, with whom she resided; son, Robert Smallman and wife Bonnie of Deepwater; and former daughter-in-law Bonnie Smallman Lawton of North Carolina; eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2012 at Cooke Funeral Home, Cedar Grove with Rev. Thomas Skaggs officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to service time. Burial and graveside farewell will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Deepwater Baptist Church, Deepwater, WV 25057
