Bobbie L. Beard          Send Condolences

Bobbie Lee "Bob" Beard, 77, of DuPont City, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his home after a long illness.

Bob was a retired coal truck driver for Princess Susan Coal Company. He was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County, a member of the UMWA and a Protestant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivory and Marie Wills Beard; sister, Bonnie Lanham; and brother, Boyd "Nub" Beard.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Morton Beard; daughter, Robin Beard Workman and her husband, Tim, of St. Albans; granddaughter, Rachel Workman Roberts and her husband, Jerry, of St. Albans; sister, June Beard Hatcher and her husband, Joe, of Parkersburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 600 Old Fort St., Cedar Grove. Burial will follow the service in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service, Saturday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Basu, Dr. Alasadi and Dr. Michael Ward who took special care of the love of our life, and also our good neighbors and friends for their care and concern.
