Jerry W. Paxton          Send Condolences

Jerry W. Paxton, 65, of Campbells Creek, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston.

Jerry lived most of his life in Kanawha County. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and also served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He was retired from the DuPont Plant in Belle. He also worked for the Kanawha County Board of Education as a custodian.

He attended Hughes Creek Community Church, Hugheston and was a member of the Homeland Choir. He was also a gospel quartet pianist. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Paxton.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Pat A. Moore Paxton at home; mother, Pauline Paxton of Charleston; daughters, Cheryl Brown (David) of St. Albans, Joyce Paxton of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brenda Kay Marmino (Chris) of Bunkerhill, Ill.; stepdaughters, Pam Hayes (Mark) of Sissonville, Nina Johnson (Jeff) of Marmet and Angela Bonham (Danny) of Rand; brother, David Paxton of Weston; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a host of other family members and friends; and his very special pet dog, Max.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Hughes Creek Community Church, Hugheston, with Pastor Gary Tucker officiating. Burial will follow the service in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hughes Creek Community Church, Hugheston.
