Paul J. Martin Send Condolences
Paul Joseph Martin, 49, of Nitro passed away May 28, 2011 after a long illness. He was born June 12, 1961 and was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Shirley Martin, also of Nitro.
He is survived by his girlfriend of 26 years, Kathy Davidson as well as her children, Elizabeth Wood, Gina Dougherty, Robbie Davidson, and her five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Howard Martin of Hometown, sister Carol Powers of Culloden, and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was a graduate of Nitro High School. Early employment included PB&S Chemical and later Maintenance for Colonial Property Rental.
Paul loved the outdoors. Some of his favorite activities included camping, fishing, playing horseshoes, and especially “Apple Butter Time.” His family crowned him as “Master Griller,” and he was always ready to feed anyone who walked in the door.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Cooke Funeral Home in Nitro will be handling the arrangements, and a private celebration of Paul’s life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
