Geraldine M. Cole          Send Condolences

Geraldine M. Baker Cole, 86, of Nitro passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, after a short illness.

Geraldine lived most of her life in Nitro and Poca and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nitro. She was a graduate of Nitro High School with the class of 1941 and was the first Miss Wildcat of Nitro High School. Geraldine worked as school secretary for Poca Elementary for many years.

She was preceded in death by parents, Harl G. Baker and his wife, Flora Grace Plumley Baker; her husband, James F. Cole; brother John Baker; and granddaughter, Holly Cross.

Surviving: son, Jim Cole and his wife, Brenda, of Hurricane; daughters, Lynn Facemyre and her husband, Hershel, of Nitro and Mary Cross, also of Nitro; brother, Carroll Baker and his wife, Jean, of Parkersburg; grandchildren, David and Scott Facemyre, Julie Cross, Wendy Hatfield, Stephanie and Kimberly Cole; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, Lexi and Annie Facemyre; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers Brooke, Debbie and Sherri and her hospice team, Carol and Beth.
