Betty J. Pennybacker          Send Condolences

Betty J. Vint Pennybacker, 77, of Nitro passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at home after a long illness.

Betty was a graduate of Tygart Valley High School and she attended Morgantown Beauty College. She was a self-employed beautician and owned a beauty shop in Marlinton. Betty moved to Nitro in 1957 and opened Betty's Beauty Shop in Nitro and operated her shop for over 40 years. Betty was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Charleston.

Surviving: husband, Edwin Pennybacker at home; brother-in-law, James E. Pennybacker and his wife, Nancy, of Marlinton; sister-in-law, Alma R. Sprouse, also of Marlinton; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 20, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 900 Lawndale Lane, Charleston, with the Rev. Richard Mahan officiating. Burial will follow the services in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 2002 20th St., Nitro. Friends may also call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
