Vernie E. “Libby” Miller, 86, of South Charleston passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010, at Dunbar Care & Rehabilitation Center, Dunbar.

Libby lived most of her life in Kanawha County, was a Protestant and worked as a medical secretary. She was an avid bowler, loved to travel and was a wonderful sister.

Libby was preceded in death by her parents, William O. and Hattie M. O'Daniels Thornton; five brothers, Lawrence, James, Junior, Clifford “Tip” and Paul; sister, Martha Maxine Thornton; and brother-in-law, Denzil R. Berry.

Surviving: sisters, Hazel E. Berry of St. Albans and Helen “Lorene” Craig and her husband, Homer, of Buffalo; brother-in-law, Donald Miller of South Charleston; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Betty Beane of Charleston.

The family would like to give special thanks to Betty Beane and Donald Miller for the care and kindness given to Libby during her lifetime.
