Jerry L. Stone Send Condolences

Jerry L. “Toot” Stone, 51, of Woodburn, Oregon, formerly of Cedar Grove, our loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed on Monday, November 30, 2009, after a sudden illness.
Jerry was born February 27, 1958, in Charleston and was the son of Phyllis Tucker Stone and the late Charles R. Stone Sr.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Lorene Tucker; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Minnie Stone; father, Charles R Stone Sr.; and stepfather, Hobert D. Brown.
Proceeding on in this world to cherish his memory and to mourn our loss for as long as we remain here are his loving wife, Karen; and son, Jason of Woodburn, Ore.; son, Jody and wife, Mandy, and grandsons, Bryan and Aaron of Parkersburg; mother, Phyllis Stone Brown of Cedar Grove; brother, Charles “Rusty” Stone Jr. of Belle; sisters, Brenda (Bill) Sparks of Hugheston and Susie (John) Montague of Hurricane; brother-in-law, Rusty (Jeanette) Whines of Hurricane; sister-in-law Linda (Chuck) Wise of Cross Lanes; and several nieces and nephews who were so greatly fond of him.
Jerry was employed with Cabot Gas Company at both the Glasgow and Hugheston offices for several years before being transferred to the Cabot Office in Kansas City, Mo., and proceeded to transfer to Pacific Utility Corporation in Portland, Ore., six years ago.
Jerry was an avid football fan and truly loved them “EERS” (WVU) and the Steelers, never missing a game and always loyal, win or lose. He loved West Virginia and always talked of coming back home to live again. His ring-tone, “Take Me Home Country Roads”, was his favorite song.
Jerry is coming home now, though not the way we wished for so many years, but he will be “back home” as he always wanted to be and laid on top a hill with the view of the sunset and sunrise on the Kanawha River as he had as a child growing up in Cedar Grove.
