Genevieve B. Hackworth          Send Condolences

Genevieve B. McCallister Hackworth, 88, of Glasgow, formerly of Ward, departed this life peacefully October 20, 2009, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

She was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Kanawha County, and a member of Cedar Grove Community Church.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, Wilbert “Wiggs” Hackworth; sons, Kenneth “Kenny” and Thomas “Tommy”; parents, C.T. and Cosie McCallister; brothers, Harold, Cleo, Elwood, and Orville; sisters, Aileen Hudnall and Marie Perkins; grandchildren, Angela Starks and Mark Hackworth; and great-grandchildren, Jenna Fields and Joshua Hackworth.

Surviving are her children: sons, Carl Hackworth and Bradley Hackworth of Glasgow; and daughters, Ruth Ann Starks of Cedar Grove, Jean Stinnett of Glasgow, Cathy Allen of Roanoke, Texas, Deborah Hackworth of Virginia Beach, Va., and Stephanie Hackworth of Cedar Grove. Also surviving are a brother, Don McCallister of Chelyan; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She will truly be missed by all.
