Donald R. Guthrie Send Condolences
Donald R. Guthrie, 86, of St. Albans passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009, at SunBridge of Putnam after a long illness.
Donald was a former rigger for the FMC Naval Ordnance Center in South Charleston. He was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J and Maymie Guthrie; and brother, Charles A. Guthrie.
Surviving: brothers, James H. Guthrie, Crittenden Guthrie and William L. Guthrie, all of St. Albans; and sisters, Marie Guthrie and Linda A Cook, both of St. Albans.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 2002 20th St., Nitro.
At Donald's request, he will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered at sea in the South Pacific Ocean.
