Leona F. Wilson          Send Condolences

Leona Francis Tucker Wilson, 88, of Hugheston went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 14, 2009, after a long illness.

Leona was born December 2, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd “Short” Wilson; her son, Lloyd “Shorty” Wilson; great-grandson, Daniel Fannin; brother, Calvin Tucker; and sister, Cleo Tucker McQuillin.

After marring the love of her life, Lloyd “Short” Wilson, they both decided to make Hughes Creek their home.

Leona was always ready to tell one of her interesting stories about raising her son and twin girls in Hughes Creek. She was always ready to give advice to her grandchildren about life's many challenges.

Leona attended the Hughes Creek Community Church of God, where in her younger years she taught a Sunday school class.

Surviving are daughters, Diana Farley of Hugheston, and Donna Waugh of Crawford; sisters, Florene Coiner of Lincoln County and Lorene Blake of Virginia; grandchildren, Janet Burke and Missy Campbell, both of Hugheston, Laura Sullivan of Smithers, Wanda Mooney of Hugheston, Luke Wilson of Walkersville, Lloyd Wilson Jr. of Hugheston, Eric Wilson of Charleston, Roger Balser and Rodney Waugh of Crawford, and Michael Waugh of Buckhannon; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and host of other family and friends.
