Sherri L. Miles          Send Condolences

Sherri L. Miles, 66, wife of Stanley R. Miles, passed away on January 19, 2009 after a short illness.

She was a 1960 graduate of St. Albans High School and Capital City Commercial College. Sherri was a 21-year employee of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of WV, and later Mountain State Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Parkersburg, where she worked as staffing coordinator in Human Resources. Because of her passion for helping people, Sherri made this lengthy commute without complaint. It was this passion and an unstoppable drive that earned her the title “The Energizer Bunny” by her co-workers.

Sherri was known for being very giving and generous. She took so much interest in other peoples’ lives and did everything she could to make them comfortable and happy.

After retiring, she volunteered her time at the Union Mission in Charleston.

In addition to her husband, Sherri is survived by one son, Rick (Alicia Kukura) Miles of Hurricane; two daughters: Angie (Paris) Hudnall of Lynchburg, VA and Gina (Andrew) Caudill of Lexington, KY; nine grandchildren: Philip Ross Miles, Paris (Heather) Clayton Hudnall III, Jennifer Ann Hudnall, Colin Patrick Miles, Morgan Emily Marie Miles, Ian Karrick Miles, Evan Michael Miles, Dalton Caleb Gentry Caudill, and Aubriana Grace Caudill; great grandchildren: Karsyn Hudnall, James Webber, and Jimmie Simpson; also surviving is a sister, Patricia Johnson of Chandler, Indiana; nieces and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Tornado, WV on Saturday January 24th 2009. Visitation will be from 12 pm to 2 pm, with the memorial service to follow.
